A little background on Earth Day that we didn’t know until this year: Earth Day has been around since 1970, thought up by a US Senator and drawing about 20 million participants to celebrate it that first time. Many consider the first Earth Day to be the birth of the modern environmental movement. Since then, the holiday has gained a lot of ground, these days being celebrated in most countries around the world, and providing lots of opportunities for people to do something cool for the planet.

Here are some #supergreen Earth Day 2015 events that we think are well worth getting involved in. Check it out and see if there’s one happening near you.
