To introduce Steve’s Camp and provide some details about this week’s fundraiser we brought in Jason Koffler of their young professionals board. There are still three days left to buy tickets or donate if you can’t make it.

Come join the Steve’s Camp Young Professionals Board as we celebrate the inauguration of everyone’s favorite season: summer. On Thursday June 26^th at 9pm at the Ainsworth Park, the Board will be throwing our Summer Kick-Off Party, complete with a one-hour open bar from 9pm to 10pm and two more fun-filled hours to follow. Tickets to the event are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Proceeds will go to the Steve’s Camp Young Professionals Board. Seize this opportunity to start your weekend just a bit early, as your minds are already at the beach by Friday as it is.

For the Steve’s Camp community, summer is an especially exciting season. Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a unique summer camp experience to underserved New York City teens. Focusing on a mantra of “Healthy Body, Healthy Heart, Healthy Mind,” Steve’s Camp seeks to empower campers to realize their full potential through an array of activities such as cooking, farming, leadership development, yoga, and many others. Located in upstate New York, Steve’s Camp gives teens an opportunity to be part of a community and environment they may never have had an opportunity to experience otherwise.

The Young Professionals Board’s goal is twofold: raise funding for and awareness of Steve’s Camp and help bridge the gap between summers, reinforcing the positive lifestyles gained at camp. Started by a group of twenty-somethings, the Young Professionals Board was born out of a connection to Jonny Kessner, Steve’s Camp’s very first counselor. Jonny tragically passed away last summer, after which his friends sought a way to remain connected to a cause so close to Jonny’s heart. What started as a personal connection has grown into something much larger as the Board has seen firsthand what an important and worthy mission Steve’s Camp seeks to fulfill.
