THE ILLMORE: Recap and Videos from the Top SXSW Music Event

Somewhere between a late night concert and an after party for the hottest artists at SXSW, the ILLMORE is the four night event series that everybody in Austin is talking about. The most sought after ticket couldn’t be bought and had over 20,000 fans register on SquadUP just for a chance to be one of the lucky few selected.

The ILLMORE, the brainchild of Scoremore and Illroots, has grown from a house party to the only SXSW after party that matters. This year they took it to a whole new level with one big name headliner after another and a crowd that obviously appreciated this very rare opportunity.

We were excited not only to power event registration and ticketing but also to attend the event itself with our incredibly talented film crew, Sean Phazes and Famous NY. To begin to understand how wild this party actually was, check out our incredible recap video.

Big Sean had the crowd going crazy at the Night 1 Kick Off party, setting the tone for an unforgettable weekend.

On the second night of the ILLMORE Steve Aoki did not disappoint and surprise guest Future finished off a wild party that raged on past sunrise.

With such a star studded lineup, it’s difficult to say who performed best on the 3rd night. The A$SAP crew not only performed but could be spotted partying in the crowd throughout the event series. How often can you say you partied with A$AP Rocky? Everybody went wild when Skrillex came on but somehow had energy left for an inspiring set from Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Gang. Bun B, Riff Raff, YG, Schoolboy Q also took the stage.

And then came the show everybody was waiting for: YMCMB featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman, Gudda Gudda, Lil’ Twist, Young Thug, and Cory Gunz. Even the beautifully done recap video doesn’t do Lil Wayne’s performance justice. Wow. An unexpected appearance from Young Jeezy set the stage for the best show at SXSW.

If you were fortunate enough to attend one or all of the shows, we’d love to hear about your experience. Every story we hear is more unbelievable than the last. Comment or tweet @SquadUP.
